Dress Code: Summer to Fall

Look Up Radio | #1 Christian Contemporary and Gospel Radio Station | Kicks for the Cool Guys - The Hottest Sneakers! 1

The heat waves have ended, classes are in session, and before you know it the leaves will be changing. While some of us welcome fall with open arms, others yearn for the summer heat to linger and bare legs to get a little more play. The good news is that no matter what your stance, you can have the best of both worlds. Here are a few ways to tweak your favorite summer pieces and carry them straight into fall!!

Favorite Summer Dress

  • Cover with a cropped leather jacket to this summer staple and instantly add edge while staying warm
  • A scarf and closed toe shoes or booties
  • Throw on a cardigan and use a belt to cinch the waist and you’re ready for work

Favorite Summer Sandals

  • Pair with cuffed skinny jeans and ankle socks…if you’re daring
  • Add wool knee socks and a pleated skirt for a collegiate look
  • Opaque stockings are always an easy way to make sandals appropriate for fall

Favorite Summer Shorts

  • Wear a blazer with your dress shorts to create your own suit
  • Add tights and combat boots to those trusty denim cut offs for a casual look

Favorite Summer Tank top

  • Cover with a wrap sweater and pair with darker jeans
  • Wear underneath a suit for church or the office

Favorite Summer Purse

  • A bright color clutch can become a statement piece when paired with a LBD (little black dress)
  • Light colored purses (cream, baby pink, etc) can compliment most neutrals and shades of gray
