Dress Code S/S’14 Trends: Boho Chic
Hello loves, yesterday marked the official start of the Spring season and over the next five weeks I will share with you my list of top five Spring 2014 trends! From the runway to the side walk, we’ll take a look at what to wear now….starting with Bohemian fashions. Inspired by the traditional ethnic and tribal prints of various Southeast Asian, Native American, and South American garments, this season designers have offered a fresh take on what many consider a cultural classic. To subtly incorporate this trend into your wardrobe look for gypsy inspired accessories. Look for jewelry made from turquoise, tiger’s eye, and other natural materials. Also a messy french braid or a floppy hat are quick and easy ways to get started.
All my fellow thrifty ladies, you may want to raid your mother or grandmother’s closet! Search for wide leg denim (I’m telling you now bell bottoms & boot cut jeans WILL be returning shortly), moccasins, crochet vests and tops, and bucket bags. For the more daring fashionistas, look for embellished pieces with intricate beading and accessories that make a bold statement. Floral headpieces, such as those created by Nae Sax for “Naeture” (follow her on IG @naeboog), large dream catcher earrings, and ring sets are a staple for this trend. Clothing choices should include a variety of prints (for example Aztec) and soft fabrics like chiffon.
Finally, no matter how you decide to rock this look be sure to express your own unique style code. Stay true to your brand!
