ICYMI: The Most Popular Articles of 2017

Psalm 105 charges us to “tell of the Lord’s wondrous works,” and the end of December makes for an unusually good time to reflect on what he has done. The psalmist says,

Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name;
     make known his deeds among the peoples!
Sing to him, sing praises to him;
     tell of all his wondrous works!
Glory in his holy name;
     let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!” (Psalms 105:1–3)

In the last 365 days, by God’s sovereign grace and mercy, 31 million of you came to for a total of 75 million visits and 130 million page views. In case you missed some of the most popular new resources this year, we have put together a list of the top ten articles and identified the best new video, message, book, and more at the bottom.

As Managing Editor, I saw all new 700 articles before they were live (and several hundred more submissions that we decided not to publish). Of the 1,500 or more articles we wrote or received in 2017, these ten were the most trafficked — all of them were viewed over 160,000 times, and the top new article was viewed a million times. This list is based solely on page views (some of our favorite articles were viewed a lot less), but it is one window into what God has done at over the last year.

Reading the Bible Supernaturally

God wrote a book, and its pages are full of his glory. But we cannot see his beauty on our own, with mere human eyes. In Reading the Bible Supernaturally, John Piper aims to show us how God works through his written word when we pursue the natural act of reading the Bible, so that we experience his sight-giving power — a power that extends beyond the words on the page.
