Review

If albums had seasons Gold, the latest release from Britt Nicole, would definitely be spring. The up-tempo rhythms and airy vocals are sure to put a smile on both your heart and face. This is the kind of music you blast in the car, dance to, and sing along with loudly. Gold is the perfect CD for young adults who feel there is no music with positive messages and great music available.

The record opens with the title track Gold, which is a punchy anthem with a strong message that reminds listeners that ,no matter what, you are valuable; a timely and very important reminder for people of all ages. Who You Say You Are is a passionate conversation from the heart of the believer to God that deals with the reassurance of relationship believers sometimes need. Ready or Not features LeCrae, with energy that rivals Katy Perry’s E.T.  featuring Kanye West. The triumphant chant style hook in Stand encourages the listener to do just that. Amazing Life is an awesome dance track. Seeing for the First Time has that 80s teen heart throb movie soundtrack vibe, which I absolutely love. This project is filled with great full bodied musical arrangements.

Though I did enjoy the project, I feel some of the production and melodic presentations echoed classic pop music. I would have loved to get this same liveliness from this project with more original ideas. Overall, it is a good CD; I would play it in its entirety without skipping over tracks, which is always a compliment in my book. With thirteen song tracks and two videos {Album Version Only} I believe Gold is worth its weight in gold.
