God’s Not Dead The Motion Picture Soundtrack- Various Artists

March 21, 2014 marked the release of the highly anticipated film God’s Not Dead. It is only right that we explore the soundtrack to such a powerful movie. God’s Not Dead The Motion Picture Soundtrack features various artists such as: Shane Harper, Stellar Kart, Jimmy Needham, and Newsboys to name a few. With a title like God’s Not Dead you have to expect a certain amount of anointing to be housed in the music.

As I listened “Ones And Zeroes” immediately grabbed my ear, something about the opening guitar pulled me in. The lyrics to that particular track were equally outstanding. The third track on the project “Save A Life” by Manic Drive has both a brilliant melody and a noteworthy rhythm. I love the emotion Tricia displayed through “What I know” whose lyrics are a pure declaration of faith. There are some really great songs on this project. Newsboys have two tracks on the record including the title track, “God’s Not Dead (Like A Lion)-Movie Version; which has audio clips from the film mixed in the recording that make it easy to receive the ministry of both the film and the soundtrack.

This ten-track motion picture soundtrack is impressively comprised. It could easily be an album performed by one artist as opposed to a compilation of various artists. The overall sound of the album is perfect for the emergence of a new spring season. I enjoyed this project and would definitely suggest supporting the film and purchasing the soundtrack.
